Sometime ago I saw a terrible film the name of which I do not recall now. The point is that the action took place in the so-called Deutsche Demokratische Republik (detail: whenever a country names itself as DEMOCRATIC, it probably is a communist dictatorship) during the period in which the eastern part of Germany was ruled by the despicable communist system introduced by the Russian commies and the most important people were the members of the communist party and of the DDR secret police, namely, STASI.

It is unbelievable that communism has not been ousted (to oust means to drive out; to expel; to evict) from planet Earth as Nazism has been. Nazism and communism are basically the same thing. Their procedures are similar. Unfortunately, what we have been seeing in the last 08 years in terms of corruption in Brazil makes me wonder. Are we heading towards Nazism or towards communism? To my Jewish friends, I must tell that there are practically no differences between the two systems: both hate the Jewish people.

I wonder why people are not doing whatever is possible to definitely eradicate these two menaces to humankind from our planet, once and forever.

Both "systems" use the freedom provided by democratic governments to destroy democracy. Is it correct, in a democracy, to allow Nazis and commies to do whatever they want to take us back to the 19th and 20th century? Is it possible that democracy allows its enemies to try and take us back to their infernos? Was Getúlio Vargas wrong when he decided that the Communist party was illegal? Getúlio may have done many wrong things, most of all during the period when he acted as a dictator, but I agree with him completely when he declared that the Communist Party was an illegal party. In 1964, the Brazilian Armed Forces fought the terrorist groups that wanted to turn Brazil into a branch of Moscow and Havana. Fortunately, they were successful in their intent. But what do we, Brazilians, face now? We face the possibility to elect, as president of our beloved "Heimatland" a person who fought to transform Brazil in a South American URRS.

Is it possible that Brazilians have already forgotten that the soviet empire has already fallen apart (to fall apart means desmoronar), has already gone to pieces, has already collapsed, has already come down?

I know that the self-destruction of the USSR took place in the twentieth century, but the year was 1989, that's just a little more than 20 years ago. Have almost 50 million Brazilians already forgotten that? I simply cannot believe it.
Anyway, that is democracy. A good system that allows its own destruction. Perhaps that is the reason why we find it such a good system: it, intrinsically, admits that there may be some other governmental system better than democracy itself.

God save Democracy.

Today is a very special day. Today is the day in which we celebrate the existence of the character that played one of the most important roles in our education: the teacher.

My sincere congratulations to all men and women who have decided to dedicate their lives to deliver the torch of civilization to the next generations. God bless the teachers.
